Are you an experienced and dedicated social work professional with a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people? Join our dynamic Children's Assessments Team in Medway and lead a team of social workers and family support workers in delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and families.
As a Team Manager in the Children's Assessments Team, you will play a pivotal role in leading, managing, and coaching a team of social workers and family support workers to ensure the delivery and improvement of services for vulnerable children and young people. You will work collaboratively with other Council services and partner agencies to develop effective partnership working and contribute to delivering the council's vision for Children's Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of social workers and family support workers, ensuring the delivery and improvement of services for vulnerable children, young people, and families.
- Develop effective partnership working with other Council services and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Contribute to delivering the council's vision for Children's Social Care, ensuring objectives and priorities are realized.
- Be competent in all areas of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) at Advanced Social Worker level and The Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for practice supervisors.
- Use available team performance data to monitor standards and performance, ensuring compliance with practice standards and procedures.
- Supervise Newly Qualified Social Workers in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, where appropriate.
- Contribute to the management of the staffing budget for the team, ensuring budgetary compliance and effective resource allocation.
- Support the safer recruitment and selection of new staff within the team and across Children's Social Care to maintain staffing levels.
- Chair strategy, review, planning, professional, and network meetings as appropriate. * Keep up to date with organizational policies, government guidance, legislation, research, and national trends to maintain professional standards.
- Deputize and support the Service Manager where necessary and provide cover for other Team Managers as required.
