Trainee Paraplanner - Knutsford
Location: Knutsford, Cheshire
Salary: Up to £35,000 (DOE)
Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid

NJR Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a Chartered financial planning firm based in Knutsford, known for its high standards, prestigious client base, and ambitious growth plans. With over £420m in assets under management, this firm is expanding its Paraplanning team and seeking a Trainee Paraplanner to join their modern and collaborative environment.

About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic role for someone with at least two years of experience in a Paraplanning Assistant or Trainee Paraplanner role with is ready to progress into something more involved/technical. You'll gain exposure to technical tasks, client contact, research, and suitability reporting - all with a clear development path toward full Paraplanner status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support experienced paraplanners in delivering high-quality research and reports
  • Interpret adviser instructions from client meetings and act on them accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records in back-office systems (Intelligent Office preferred)
  • Prepare suitability reports in line with a structured training programme
  • Analyse client information and conduct fund/platform research
  • Obtain provider illustrations and documentation
  • Liaise with clients and providers to follow up on outstanding queries
  • Ensure client files meet ongoing compliance standards

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a financial planning environment
  • Progress toward the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Good understanding of pensions, investments, and protection products
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with platform software preferred
  • Clear communicator - both written and verbal
  • Positive, driven, and accountable individual who thrives in a team
