Role Description:

Bridge Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Manager to join the Team of one of our clients, a family-led facilities service provider delivering service excellence to clients internationally. As Senior Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage a newly awarded contract, stretching from the North West and Wales to the North East and Yorkshire. You will be responsible for the daily operations of 24 bus depots plus outstations, covering a fleet of 1350 vehicles. The ideal Senior Operations Manager will have proven experience within the transport/bus industry and will have full understanding of the unique requirements of the transport/bus industry and the 24/7 operations that come with this responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the contract
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental and quality standards
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • Manage and lead a team of supervisors and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded
  • Monitor and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective service delivery
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve operational performance
  • Ensure all vehicles are cleaned, fuelled and shunted in a timely and efficient manner
  • Handle any operational issues or emergencies promptly and effectively
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure high standards are maintained

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an operational management role within facilities and ideally in the transport sector
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent customer care and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 24/7 operations
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • University degree and/or higher education qualifications preferred
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software
  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Resilient and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery
