Goodman Masson are searching for a Senior Management Accountant/ Finance Manager to join an Investment Bank in London.

As a key member of the team, you'll step into a dynamic and diverse role, responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, including transactional accounting, reporting, FP&A. The successful applicant will not only be a skilled financial professional but also a valued business partner, collaborating seamlessly across various departments. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage a finance assistant, contributing to the growth and success of the team as a whole.

Transactional Accounting:

  • Ensure the accuracy of day-to-day transactions posted into ledgers;
  • Prepare journals with strict adherence to company compliance and control policies;
  • Review the work of the finance assistant and finance intern;
  • Oversee payment run reports to ensure smooth processing.

Month-End Reporting:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to streamline the month-end close process;
  • Maintain monthly reconciliations and journals for comprehensive financial records;
  • Assist in preparing the monthly consolidation file and provide insightful commentary for Analytical Review;
  • Contribute to improving the existing balance sheet reconciliation process.

Financial Reporting:

  • Provide valuable support for the annual reporting process in compliance with IFRS;
  • Prepare half-yearly accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audited subsidiary company accounts
  • Contribute to the annual audit, tax compliance, and structuring processes.

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • A recognised finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc);
  • Management Accounting and Financial Accounting experience;
  • Investment banking experience is preferred
  • Strong process-driven mindset with a focus on maintaining controls;
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Outstanding communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
