The Role: The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing robust processes with internal and external suppliers to support manufacturing operations and meet service levels.
  • Cost Optimisation: Securing supplies of materials and services at competitive prices while adhering to quality, health, safety, and ethical standards.
  • Supplier Management: Creating and managing service level agreements (SLAs) with new suppliers, ensuring efficient ongoing collaboration.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Maintaining a comprehensive database of supplier contracts, pricing, and SLAs.
  • Inventory Efficiency: Optimising stock levels, storage strategies, and supplier terms to improve working capital and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Performance Metrics: Distributing key performance indicator (KPI) data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the commercial team to ensure professional customer liaison aligned with the company's business principles.
  • Team Development: Collaborating with the Supply Chain Manager to develop a high-performing supply chain team.
  • Project Support: Assisting mechanical and electrical engineering personnel in project-related tasks.
  • Negotiation Skills: Assertively negotiating with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain is essential
  • Experience in manufacturing processes is important
  • Fluency in at least one major European language (French, German, Spanish, Italian) is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills for decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven management, leadership, and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and business systems.
