Administrator - Fire Safety

Location: West Midlands

Start: June/July 2024

Rate: £20-25 p/h Umbrella Inside IR35 (De pendant on experience)

Hours: Part time – likely 3 days per week

Duration: 6 months initially (Very likely to extend)

Hybrid working – Onsite one day per week (likely Wednesday)

Our client is looking for an organised Administrator to join their team and provide essential support to their Fire Safety Officers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Fire Safety Officers, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fire safety inspections, reports, and other documentation
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of fire safety notices, reports, and correspondence
  • Liaise with other council departments, external agencies, and the public to facilitate effective communication and coordination
  • Handle incoming inquiries and provide information on fire safety procedures and regulations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety policies and procedures
  • Support the team with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a public sector or safety-focused environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and procedures (desirable but not essential; training will be provided
