Distribution Site Manager L1- The Wirral Salary c£34-£42k pa depending on experience with excellent benefitsWe're on the lookout for an energetic and driven Distribution Site Manager to join our Distribution Centre team in The Wirral.This role requires you to lead, inspire, and manage the daily operations of our staff, including drivers and administrative personnel on-site. Whether you're just starting out in your logistics career or aiming to expand your expertise, we encourage you to apply.The appointed candidate will take charge of coordinating delivery schedules to distribute cylinder gas supplies, with a key focus on maximising efficiency in driver and vehicle utilisation. Responsibilities also encompass ensuring drivers adhere to statutory and HSE regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, covering areas such as cash handling, stock management, and cylinder reconciliation processes. Prioritizing a culture of ongoing enhancement for both internal and external customers, the candidate will champion a "right first-time" ethos with an unwavering emphasis on safety.Key responsibilities:

  • Fulfilling the role of Nominated Transport Manager (NTM) by overseeing all essential checks and controls to uphold a safe and dependable fleet, including CPC, RTD/WTD, tachograph records, and maintenance plans.Safety is the top priority in our operations. The Site Leader must comprehend and enforce all applicable legislation and standards, liaising with internal experts and regulatory authorities as needed. They will ensure stringent security measures for property and products, serving as an emergency call-out key holder and attending to emergencies when necessary.Leverage a practical understanding of applicable legislation, safety protocols, quality procedures, and site operating instructions.Ensure that the site under their leadership is maintained in accordance with company policies and external regulatory requirements.Prioritize the customer in all decision-making processes. Ensure all employees receive comprehensive training and have the necessary tools to provide exceptional customer service across all aspects of the cylinder and bulk business.Develop and implement plans for the training and development of on-site staff. Conduct performance reviews in accordance with company procedures.

As such we would like you to have/be:

  • Proven people management and leadership skillsAble to organise resources in line with customer needs, company service levels through KPIs.Sound working knowledge of current transport regulations and directives.Proven experience at management or supervisory level in a service led environment, financial experience preferred.Knowledge of current employment legislationIT literateADR certificate / Experience of Hazardous goods preferred but full training can be provided.Formal safety qualification preferred but full training can be provided, (IOSHH, NEBOSH)Management CPC preferred but full training can be provided.Demonstrate understanding of COP 7.
