Senior Stress Engineer - Aerospace

Contract Outside IR35 - Rate Negotiable

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Stress Engineer to join our dynamic team for our client who are specialists in the design, development and manufacture of bespoke tooling. Please don't hesitate to contact James Taylor for more information.

The remit of the support is expected to be full time, covering Design MRB for concessions. Typical activities would include the following:

  • Designing repairs / corrective action to manufacturing non-conformances to a professional standard utilising and interrogating supporting systems (i.e. CAD, config, etc.) where required.
  • Communicating with relevant support functions (M & P, flammability, stress, etc.) where required to ensure all airworthiness requirements are maintained.
  • Providing instruction to manufacturing environment to embody concessionary action, and where possible provide guidance to ensure build programme is not compromised.
  • Ensuring work is completed within time constraints, whilst maintaining adherence to procedures and regulations.
  • Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet customer priority requirements.
  • Look to support standardisation and the development of innovative tools and systems to streamline existing processes.

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Degree qualified (HND minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with complex machinery, automation, bespoke tooling, material handling or mechanisms etc.
  • Highly skilled in stress analysis and FEA software.
  • Skilled in detail design using a Catia V5 software.
  • Experience leading projects from concept to completion, including dealing directly with customers and suppliers, although not essential.
