Contracts Manager

To support the management and oversight of all aspects of the contract processes, obligations, and implementation on both customer and supplier sides.

Key Responsibilities of a Paralegal/Contracts Manager

  • Reviewing customer and/or supplier contract terms and conditions to balance risk with commercial objectives.
  • Tracking approval process during contract discussions.
  • Working on the preparation and review of tenders.
  • Drafting and reviewing terms for standard forms such as NDAs, MOUs, partnership agreements, and so on.
  • Managing or helping to manage subcontractor and vendor relationships.
  • Carrying out contract reviews of existing contracts.
  • Delivering, and maintaining effective commercial methods, processes, and operational procedures to ensure contracts are managed in line with internal and external compliance standards, including ISO, GDPR and other applicable laws.
  • Ensure legal documents are correctly prepared and move smoothly and quickly from drafting/receipt, through collaboration and negotiation, to signature.
  • Monitoring the implementation and performance of signed contracts.
  • Ensuring signed contracts, contract amendments and other contractual and legal documents are stored securely in One Drive.
  • Conducting research on matters as required.
  • Managing adhoc contractual requests from the business.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in processes/systems within the legal department.

Key Competencies of a Paralegal/Contracts Manager
Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience of working in a hands-on paralegal, contract management, legal, commercial or procurement role.
  • Familiarity with online research tools.

Desirable

  • ILEX
  • Experience of working with overseas customers or suppliers.
  • NALP Paralegal practice award, certificate or diploma.
  • Postgraduate paralegal diploma.
  • An award in legal studies.
  • Legal secretary certificate or diploma
  • Knowledge or experience of working with both private and public sector organisations
