Resource Panel Assistant

The starting salary for this position is £32,512 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a new Resource Panel Assistant to help coordinate complex Multi-agency Panels across Children's Service.

This varied and interesting role is based at our Reigate office within our exemplary Business Support service. The role is offered on a hybrid-working basis with the expectation that you will be in the office at least two days a week but this may vary depending on requirements and need.

About the Team

The Children, Families and Learning directorate provides a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people. Services are delivered directly to children and their families within extensive statutory frameworks and staff working in these areas need specialist knowledge in order to deliver effective services to these high risk and high need groups.

This role is based within our outstanding business support service, which underpins the work of the frontline practitioners. This role will work closely with senior management, panel chairs and other agencies to ensure requirements and expectations are known in order to improve delivery of support and improve timescales.

About the Role

As a Resource Panel Assistant, your role will be to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative and finance support to panels where funding decisions for packages of care for children are agreed. You will support the Resource Panel Coordinator by ensuring all necessary information to enable these decisions to be made is available and will support cross service and agency working with responsibility for tracking and analysing information. The role will enable cohesive and consistent decision making and governance to assist in delivering the overall aim of the Service which is to improve outcomes for children.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communication skills. You will have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and have the ability to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will be highly organised and willing to take responsibility, as well as using initiative.

  • Experience of note taking at complex meetings using a laptop
  • Effective communication with evidence of providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of data analysis and reporting
  • Experience of using business or financial databases
  • Experience of working independently, taking initiative and working with senior management
