We are looking for experienced Band 5/6 mental health nurses for a well-known Mental Health Trust in York. The trust is seeking enthusiastic and innovative Band 6 Acute Liaison Psychiatry Service (ALPS) Mental Health Liaison Nurses to be active members of a team of trained professionals in liaison mental health, delivering timely and compassionate assessments that effectively signpost service users with mental health issues presenting in our General Hospitals.
Description:
The successful applicants will be motivated practitioners, capable of working within a General Hospital environment, respecting their views and methods while promoting mental health and collaborative working. Building close relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Voluntary Care Sector, Local Authority, Blue Light services, and, above all, service users and their families will be essential.
Other key areas of focus include trauma-informed care, ensuring older adults receive equitable services, creating safe and inclusive pathways for intoxicated service users, addressing increased risks for perinatal service users, and connecting with key services to counter the impact of social deprivation.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in mental health care/treatment.
- Experience in acute mental health nursing care.
- Experience working with adults presenting in mental health crises.
- A minimum of 18 months post-qualification experience is required.
Skills:
- Understanding and knowledge of mental health conditions, treatments, recovery principles, and person-centred care.
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Care Programme Approach.
- Understanding of physical health conditions and the complications they can cause for patients experiencing mental ill health.
