Job Title: Senior Investment Accountant
Duration: 6-12 months
Rate/Salary: £600-750 per day Outside IR35
Location: Wilmslow/home based (2 days in office per week, 3 days home working)
The Role:
Working with one of the UK's largest Mutual Insurers on an interim assignment and is responsible for the following.
- Responsible for the Group investment reporting processes (i.e. the operational processes for consolidation of asset data for statutory and regulatory reporting, related reconciliations and control checks) - this will involve regular interactions with the Group's custodian HSBC and asset management business RLAM. Knowledge of Oracle Fusion desirable but not essential.
- Managing hard-to-value private asset classes (for example private credit, equity release mortgages and securitisations, CLOs, repos/reverse repos and infrastructure assets), including valuation judgements and establishing related operational processes.
- Managing asset transitions (fund changes, in-species, fund consolidations etc), particularly in unit-linked funds and including assessing unit pricing/customer implications of the transition approach.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with several years PQ experience.
- Time spent within a similar role, ideally from an Insurance or Financial Services background.
- Experience in working independently and proactively, updating key stakeholders and influencing specific parties including IT SMEs, asset management teams and Group Finance.
- Able to communicate complex financial matters clearly and precisely, personal impact in business and technical discussions at all levels, excellent analytical skills and detail-orientated.
- Strong operational planning and project management skills, and innovative approach to problem-solving.
