Production Engineer

My client is a highly regarded global engineering group who are continuing to grow.

The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the production process of the condition monitoring product range. This includes planning, organising, and supervising to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet all specifications. Additionally, the Production Engineer will support process improvements and cost control initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Collaborating with the operations team to plan manpower and material supply for upcoming work scopes
  • Supervising the assembly team on a daily basis and aligning priorities with business requirements
  • Ensuring timely completion and budget adherence of product orders, meeting quality standards and targets
  • Assisting in quality control, including Root Cause Analysis and quality audits
  • Controlling costs and purchase orders for materials and additional works, ensuring all additional works are charged to the project
  • Ensure proper documentation and packaging for all orders
  • Supporting all manufacturing activities
  • Ensure all products / projects meet or exceed expected margins
  • Conducting assembly and product training within the department to ensure tasks are completed safely and in accordance with quality standards
  • Managing and maintaining stock levels
  • Ensuring the proper operation of test equipment and tools
  • Ensuring accurate production records are kept and updated
  • Prioritising safety in all activities within the assembly area

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • At least 5 years proven track record within the electro-mechanical industry with some knowledge of Production Engineering in an industrial environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion and interest in serving customers and exceeding expectations
  • Interpersonal skills at all organisation levels, the ability to motivate people and engender a culture of team working to achieve the aims of the business
  • Proven manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with assembly and testing of similar products
  • Qualifications such as an HNC level, City and Guilds, or equivalent in Electro-mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of electronics and software
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar industry
