We currently have a great opportunity to join a thriving Primary School in Bargoed whom are looking to add to their ever-growing staff cohort. The schools most successful candidates have will have proven experience as proactive educators alongside being read write inc trained with interventions experience.

Interventions Teaching Assistant Duties will include:

  • To undertake practical, supervisory and support work in order to assist teachers in delivering high quality learning to pupils in a specified area (e.g. literacy, numeracy)
  • Deliver successful intervention in reading/ writing/maths to support pupils in increasing their attainment in key skills

Interventions Teaching Assistant Role Responsibilities:

* To engage individual pupils and small groups in identified learning programmes e.g. language, reading, spelling, handwriting/presentation recording, numeracy, social skills and behaviour
* Work with Teachers to plan and develop programme for pupils with identified literacy/numeracy difficulties or additional learning needs
* Maintain careful records on each child as a basis for instruction and monitoring, providing written reports and attending meetings as necessary and provide regular feedback to staff and parents as appropriate
* Maintain close and regular links with the class teachers of children receiving intervention to ensure that progress is maintained and independence promoted in whole-class lessons
* Communicate with parents/carers as required and deliver training to them as part of the school team
