About:

My client is an electrical building services company that has been established for over 20 years. They are lookinf for a financial controller on a permenanet basis.

The succesfull candidate will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the production of the Management Quarterly and Year End accounts to provide accurate financial information in order to present the Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Quarterly accounts meetings to discuss management accounts in detail, as well as providing comparisons for the period for the previous year.
  • The supervision of the accounts and payroll staff, ensuring information is accurately entered and providing support and training where required as well as carrying out both formal and informal monthly appraisals.
  • Build and report on all data needed within the role. This includes but not limited to expenditure, valuations, weekly & monthly cash flow reporting, project progression.
  • Ensuring VAT information is accurate for submission including the running and submission of 3x VAT returns each quarter.
  • WIP reporting and Sales Retention accounting information:
  • Checking and running the CIS return and ensuring all subcontractors are processed with relevant VAT coding, that they have been correctly verified and processed.
  • Ensure correct data entry for all accounting and financial information.
  • Provide the Managing Directors with updates regarding the company's financial and accounting information.
  • Control of the payments for both the Tax/Financial year and also within the PAYE scheme.

Key skills & qualifications required:

  • Sage Line 50 accounting package
  • Management accounts
  • Sage Payroll
  • AAT Foundation Level 2
  • AAT Level 3
  • AAT Level 4
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to prepare & set up accurate financial spreadsheets.
  • Self-starter and organised.
  • Positive, proactive and dynamic - looks for solutions.
