  • Hourly Rate: £29.12 (Umbrella)
  • Location: London – Wembley and Brent
  • Job Type: Contract – 6 weeks with possible extension

We are currently looking for a Housing Officer with a solid background in generic housing management to join a social housing team in London. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of housing management and tenant satisfaction within the community.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a portfolio of properties, ensuring effective tenancy and leasehold management.
  • Act as the main point of contact for tenants, addressing queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure they meet safety and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to arrange necessary repairs and improvements.
  • Handle tenancy agreements, including new tenancies, renewals, and terminations.
  • Engage with the community to build strong relationships and address housing concerns.
  • Implement housing policies and procedures to improve resident welfare and housing conditions.
  • Provide support and advice to tenants, including those who are vulnerable, to promote sustainable living situations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Housing Officer role or similar within the social housing sector.
  • Knowledge of current housing laws and an understanding of best practices in housing management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building rapport with tenants and working collaboratively with various teams.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A customer-focused approach, dedicated to meeting the needs of residents and enhancing their quality of life.
