Salary £19.25 per hour plus lots of Overtime available

Hours 0600 - 1500 Monday to Friday 42.5 hour week

overtime at x1.5 and x2 Sunday

Call out one in every 4/5 weeks paid at min 3 hours at x1.5

Working exclusively with our client a major player in the food industry with quality, safety and people at their forefront. They are seeking to strengthen their Engineering team with an Electrical Engineer with supervisory responsibilities. This could suit someone seeking their next career move who is perhaps covering the Supervisor role currently as well as established Team Leaders or Supervisors

What is the purpose of the Engineering Supervisor - Electrical Engineer?

The successful candidate would report into the Regional Engineering Manager. The Supervisor will provide onsite support for the 6 team members which range from apprentice to multi-skilled level but will remain supported by the senior team The candidate will have a multi skilled engineering background (preferably with an electrical bias) to be successful in this working supervisor role.

What are the main responsibilities of the Engineering Supervisor - Electrical Engineer?

  • Supervise and direct day to day engineering duties, including determining needed repairs and improvements, establishing project priorities and assigning work tasks, scheduling work to most effectively meet the needs of production with minimal disruption.
  • Provide leadership to the site engineering team – coaching engineers during breakdowns and overseeing time critical repairs.
  • Ensuring plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly
  • Maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose
  • Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
  • Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate
  • Completing daily maintenance check sheets and job cards

What skills and qualifications will the Engineering Supervisor have?

  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines
  • TIG Welding an advantage
  • Ideally electrical bias, with PLC & inverter experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role
  • Will be committed to working within the Company Mission, Vision & Values
  • Food industry experience is advantageous
  • Comfortable working at height
