Accounts Payable Clerk Role Overview

NC Associates have partnered with a well-established yet growing business who are looking to add a positive and ambitious Accounts Payable Clerk to their finance team.

Purchase Ledger Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Receive and accurately process supplier invoices.
  • Match, batch and code invoices via a 3 way matching process – requesting PO numbers as required.
  • Complete regular supplier statement reconciliations, requesting copy invoices as required.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs, ensuring that suppliers are paid accurately and within agreed payment terms.
  • Support the wider finance and operations teams as required.
  • Post payments and direct debits to relevant accounts.
  • Take inbound calls to resolve supplier queries promptly.
  • Process and verify employee expense claims.
  • Monitor the supplier inbox, responding to queries and resolving issues.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, providing an excellent experience.

Purchase Ledger Clerk Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable position (with exposure to 3 way matching of invoices)
  • Experience gained within larger business or shared service centre environments is highly advantageous.
  • The ability to work to target in a fast paced and high-volume position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Problem solving and query resolution abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Strong IT and computerised system skills.
  • A desire to progress in a finance and accounting career path.
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to tasks and duties.
  • The ability to work as part of a friendly team bust using own initiative as required.
