As one of the leading agency suppliers to the HM Prison Service, for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Plumber at HMP Warren Hill Prison.

They are looking for people that can make a positive, beneficial, and noticeable change to the sites. Where they provide critical and time-bound services to the Ministry of Justice and are looking for Facilities Management professionals.
The duties for this position will consist of:
- Carrying out varied duties such as reactive repairs, small, planned projects and maintenance.
- To complete plumbing installations, testing, and commissioning in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practice and Health and Safety procedures
- To maintain regular communications, via radio net, in accordance with LSS
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment through regular checking and testing of heating appliances and installations in accordance with relevant legislation.
- To undertake incidental and emergency or urgent tasks and assignments as per Prison Service Specifications timescales, in a safe manner.
The prison services are looking for applications with:
- Plumbers qualify at C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) or NVQ level 3 in Plumbing.
- To be registered with gas safely is desirable but not essential.
- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
- Must be familiar with and able to work for Water Supply HRES/FRM/05095 SEPTEMBER 2019
- Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
This does start as a temporary role, although you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position and, in general, these roles tend to be long-term, given you are working with the existing maintenance team who are already based on site.
You will be working Monday to Friday 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday - 8am-4pm.
The hourly rate is £24 an hour, with an overtime rate available via umbrella.
Due to the nature of the environment, you will be asked to complete the standard Security Vetting for the establishments.
