Assistant Service Engineer

Our client is looking to recruit an assistant service engineer to join their team. The service team repair, service and install the products and for the right candidate the aim would to be trained up to become a service engineer. This role will also require some staying away from home.

Main Duties

  • Assist with the repair, servicing and installation work of all products.
  • Attend site appointments and assist with the repair, maintenance and installation of all relevant products.
  • To provide support including technical to any staff and customer base.
  • To assist with ensuring that all necessary documentation is at hand for any calls and contracts that you have been involved with.
  • To provide all details of any site visits.
  • To keep an extensive diary of all your attendance at site visits i.e. name, address, time on site, time travelling and mileage etc.
  • To provide all relevant time sheets and expenses before the end of the month.
  • To work in any other department when there is no Service work available.
  • To carry out as and when required any other duties to facilitate the effective operation of the company, or any reasonable request.
  • To work at all times in accordance with the Company's quality procedures.
  • To protect all quality system documentation issued in order to prevent loss, damage and deterioration.
  • To contribute ideas towards improvements in the quality system.
  • To cooperate during quality system audits and implement immediate and long-term corrective action under direct control within agreed time scales.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience of working with electrics.
  • Driving licence is essential as they will be sharing the driving with another member of the team.
  • There is some heavy lifting in this role.
  • Installation experience is an advantage.
  • Servicing experience is an advantange.

Working hours

  • 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday.
  • 8am to 4pm on a Friday.
  • 41.5 hours per week.
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break and 15-minute paid tea break.
  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) rising to 34 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) over 5 years.
