Overview:
The Network Engineer Apprenticeship is a Level 4 program designed to equip learners with the skills needed to design, build, and secure multi-vendor networks.
As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Salary: £19,000 per annum.

The Role / Duties:
As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing
  • Testing
  • Building
  • Maintaining networks with fresh, innovative ideas

You'll also manage various services across our networks, ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

  • Additionally, you'll have the chance to engage with cutting-edge networking technology, upgrade existing networks, and handle network elements

We'll equip you with job-specific skills, such as planning, designing, building, and testing simple networks while applying security measures.

  • You'll learn to identify key characteristics of new network services and estimate expected traffic loads.

Network security evaluation will also be part of your training to ensure our designs are secure and resilient.

  • You'll directly assist both technical and non-technical users in installing and maintaining computer networks.

Ideal skills / experience requirements:

  • Network design: Collaborate with senior engineers to plan and design network infrastructure
  • Security measures: Implement security protocols to safeguard data and prevent unauthorized access
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations and changes
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring optimal performance
  • Vendor collaboration: Work with various vendors to select and deploy network solutions
  • Monitoring networks to identify potential bottlenecks/faults

Desired qualities:

Entry requirements:

  • an A-Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
  • OR an A-Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
