Role Overview
The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in implementing and optimising the operational aspects of the organisation's programs, including coordinating the collection of leftover paint and its distribution throughout the reuse/remanufacture network. This individual will manage a team, coordinate with external partners, and ensure that all operational activities meet the organisation's quality standards, budgetary guidelines, and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
Program Management & Execution
- Lead the implementation and day-to-day management of operational programs, including collection sites, recycling initiatives, and reuse efforts for leftover paint.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners (e.g., recyclers, municipalities, logistics providers) to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of operational programs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Process Optimisation & Efficiency
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and increase program scalability.
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and propose improvements or innovations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Oversee the logistics of paint collection, transportation, and recycling.
- Manage inventory effectively.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any operational risks.
Role Specification

Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in operations management, project management, or logistics, ideally in an environmental, sustainability, or waste management-related industry
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong people management, communication, and leadership skills
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, data analysis tools, and project management software
- Relevant professional membership in environmental or waste management sectors (e.g., CIWM, AIEMA)
