The company A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace and defence Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a maintenance engineer to join their maintenance team.
The role A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, reporting into the Maintenance Manager, to join the Team at their Birmingham Facility.
4 on 4 off shifts - £47,000 + annual progression
You will take responsibility for:
- To work between maintenance and production areas attending machine breakdowns
- To carry out corrective, planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, and improving all plant and equipment uptime.
- Fault finding and installations on various heavy plant equipment
- Engaging in projects and processes as required
- Complying to maintenance schedules and health and safety systems
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Must be apprentice trained or NVQ Lvl 3 qualified in Mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
- The ability to use and interpret technical drawings
- Able to work to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be computer literate, organised, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a strong communicator
- Good knowledge of EHS requirements and desire to progress
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience working within a heavy engineering or fast-paced industrial/production engineering environment
- Experience of operating FLTs or Cranes would be ideal (training provided)
