We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated SENCO to join a vibrant educational setting near Birmingham City Centre. The ideal candidate will have a passion for special educational needs and inclusion, with a proven track record for raising standards. As a key member of the middle leadership team, you will be instrumental in enhancing the learning experience and outcomes for children with SEND.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy.
  • Coordinate provision for children with special educational needs.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to inclusive education.
  • Advise on the graduated approach to providing SEND support.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all children with SEND.
  • Contribute to the professional development of staff to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
  • Actively participate in the middle leadership team, contributing to the strategic development of the school.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified teacher status.
  • Experience as a SENCO or holds the National Award for SENCO.
  • Experience working with pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Calm and resolution-focused approach.
  • Ability to motivate, support, and inspire learners, staff, and the wider community.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
