Yolk Recruitment is thrilled to collaborate with an award winning Group Company. We are currently seeking an experienced General Counsel to join their growing in-house team. This unique opportunity offers a diverse and dynamic caseload in a fast-paced environment. As General Counsel, you will provide expert legal advice across four companies within the group, including one of the UK's fastest-growing multi-utility consultancies and as well as a leading player in the construction industry. What You'll Be Doing as an General Counsel
You will work across all the companies, primarily focusing on the larger entities and their acquisitions. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing further investments and acquisitions.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts including supply agreements, service contracts and partnership agreements.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of construction contracts, net, jct and subcontract agreements.
  • Advise on corporate structure, formation and reorganisation
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation including pre-litigation advice
  • Lead and manage all aspects of M&A transactions from inception to completion.
  • Provide advice on a wide range of employment issues

To thrive in this role, as an General Counsel
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Senior Legal Counsel or higher. Experience in establishing an in-house legal team is advantageous but not essential. Additionally, a background in handling commercial disputes within the construction industry would be highly desirable.

Essentials
Previous experience covering corporate and commercial matters, disputes, compliance, employment and regulatory.
