Finance Assistant

Reed Norwich Accountancy are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our client's team on the outskirts of Norwich on a fixed-term basis for 9 months. This role is integral to their current growth plans and will contribute to the continued success of their business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some experience in finance who is looking to further their career.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Conduct import document checks, plan and authorise payments, and handle associated queries.
  • Manage DP-document checks and payment authorisation within the banking system.
  • Handle TT-planning and requesting payments & trade loan applications.
  • Raise Letters of Credit and amendments as necessary.
  • Book goods in the system upon payment and trade loan issuance.
  • Chase missing documents based on the shipping schedule and perform weekly document ETA checks.
  • Forecast payments for the upcoming month.
  • Maintain records of shipping and payment averages by supplier.
  • Check and authorise demurrage and potential recharges, regularly checking rates.
  • Perform daily invoicing based on outstanding sales orders and paperwork provided by the supply chain.
  • Resolve queries and raise Credit Notes as needed.
  • Support the Senior Credit Controller with credit control tasks.
  • Assist with monthly stock reports and import/export cost reconciliation.
  • Provide weekly administrative support to the finance team and update various reconciliations.
  • Update Finance policy and procedures and cover for expenses during holidays.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a finance or similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel 365, Sage, Saphire, or other accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and possess excellent time management skills.
