Our client is a leading wealth and Investment management firm dedicated to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to their clients. We are looking for a talented individual to join their team as the Operations Manager for the Payment Control and Investigations team.
Summary/Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead and manage the Payment Control and Investigations team. The successful candidate will ensure that day-to-day functions are completed efficiently, prior to deadlines, and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:
-
Ensure real-time escalation of operational risks, incidents, and errors to Head/Deputy Head of Operations.

Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance processing efficiency, including automation and system development.

Ensure accurate daily and monthly income payments through automated processes.

Review and amend outgoing payments to comply with country-specific requirements.

Ensure all payment requests are authorized appropriately and processed timely.

Monitor payment queues to meet currency deadlines and authorize payments as needed.

Manage cheque payments and deposit processes.

Team Leadership:

Coordinate tasks and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth team operations.

Distribute workload to maintain high standards of work.

Conduct annual and interim performance reviews, set performance goals, and manage team absences.

Encourage and develop team members through mentoring, training, and coaching.

Provide ongoing feedback and document performance reviews.

Technical and Compliance:

Perform daily Nostro reconciliations and direct debit mandate reconciliations.

Resolve internal and external queries professionally.

Ensure departmental procedures are reviewed and updated biannually.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Undertake and complete all assigned e-learning and CPD.
Competencies and Skills

Technical Expertise:

Solid experience in wealth management or banking operations with a focus on people management.

In-depth knowledge of Avaloq, SWIFT, IGT, and BACS processes.

Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Regulatory Awareness:

Strong understanding of UK and International banking regulations.

Adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
