HR Ops Functional Lead Workday Implementation

Posted by Frazer Jones.

I am thrilled to announce and support an outstanding business to recruit an HR Operations Functional Lead (Workday & ServiceNow Implementation) on a 9-month fixed-term contract basis. In this role Workday HRIS experience is essential, as well as project management skills, and a career history of leading complex global HRIS and HR ops projects. You will have supported a global HRIS implementation in the past, working with mapping new processes and delivering on time with project timelines. Whilst Workday HRIS, Workday testing, and Workday mapping are essential, you will also need to understand the HR landscape, lifecycle, and best practices. In this role you will sit across multiple workstreams, including the HR systems and HR operations team, ensuring that HR processes, operations, and business requirements are expertly translated into Workday in the backdrop of a full-scale global implementation.

This fixed-term contract cover position will work closely with the Human Resources Business Partners, office Human Resources and operations staff, Human Resources Information Systems, Human Resources Operations Delivery, and other Human Resources Operations teams to ensure a positive employee experience through excellent Human Resources service delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining service standards, driving global consistency, and improving service efficiencies. As the HR Ops Functional Lead on Workday, you will become the subject matter expert for Workday employee lifecycle processes, ensuring Human Resources Business Partners and employees are equipped with the necessary tools to deliver a high-quality employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Workday testing in partnership with the HRIS implementation partner, UAT (user acceptance testing), to ensure vigorous testing enabled the new HR mapping and process to translate over to Workday,
  • Oversee the functional stream of core Human Resources processes, managing scoping, planning, execution, tracking, and reporting on project milestones, in collaboration with Centres of Expertise and Human Resources Business Partners.
  • Define Workday requirements and create functional designs by working closely with People Function stakeholders, business stakeholders, solution architects, designers, and developers, ensuring business needs are properly captured and delivered.
  • Partner with the HR project team, Human Resources Information Systems, and Human Resources Operations Delivery to shape process requirements and develop end-to-end process documentation to support Human Resources services.
  • Manage the balance between global consistency and local regulatory requirements by working alongside the Human Resources Compliance and Governance Manager.
  • Identify potential risks, monitor mitigating actions, and escalate issues as needed, particularly around shared resource usage and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Operations Delivery team to create scalable service delivery models, document standard operating procedures, and provide necessary training.

The role offers a competitive package of £80,000 to £85,000 p.a. on a 9-month fixed-term basis. You will benefit from an agile and hybrid working model and be given autonomy.
