Chichester College is recruiting for a Pastoral Support Manager to lead, manage and develop the student support functions within the parameters set by the Group Management Team and the Student Support Directors.

As our Pastoral Support Manager, you will also be responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the tutorial and careers provisions for both students and all team members. You will also be required to support personal development, behaviour and attitudes implementation across the campus along with supporting the Directors drive forward quality of support across the group.

Key Responsibilities of our Pastoral Support Manager:

  • Managing staff, finances, management information and resources within the Student Support area in accordance with Group/College policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ensuring the development of the service levels, policies and procedures of all the areas listed above to deliver a high quality, customer focused and value for money support for the College.
  • Ensuring attendance, retention and achievement is a key focus for pastoral teams and appropriate monitoring and actions to support excellent attendance and retention are in place.
  • Ensuring that quality standards are maintained and that targets are set, reviewed, monitored and achieved.
  • Ensuring that student needs are met in a responsive way in line with the concept of inclusive learning.
  • Ensuring in the broadest sense that the provision continues to respond effectively to the identified and changing learning needs of both existing and potential students.
  • Acting as an advocate for the Student Voice to ensure that provision supports the learning, pastoral and personal care of students.
  • Developing and maintaining appropriate relationships, both internally and externally.

Our ideal Pastoral Support Manager should have the below skills and experience:

  • Educated to A level standard (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in Further Education with direct student contact
  • Experience Co-ordinating motivating and leading a team
  • Further Education curriculum and progression routes
  • The ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels with staff and students both written and verbal
