In one of our Plymouth-based schools, Randstad Education is looking for a committed SEN Teacher to join the team on Full-time basis. This position is perfect for someone with prior experience dealing with SEN students, especially those who have been diagnosed with autism. Experienced educators who want to deepen their knowledge of working with pupils who have complex needs and are not meeting age-appropriate academic standards are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For pupils with special education needs, create and carry out individualised education plans.
  • Establish a welcoming and inclusive learning atmosphere in the classroom to promote growth and learning.
  • Work together with support personnel, teaching assistants, and other experts to give each student individualised support.
  • Track and evaluate student's development while giving parents and carers regular updates.
  • Attend staff meetings, training courses, and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Must provide 2 proven professional references.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential for ECTs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
