Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Derbyshire (Close to Chesterfield)
Hours: Full Time 8.30am - 3.30pm
Contract: Fixed Term for One Academic Year
Start Date: September 2024
We are seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work across various year groups, supporting pupils in core subjects where they are experiencing difficulties. Additionally, you will provide specialised support to children with moderate learning difficulties within our mainstream setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering the curriculum across different year groups.
- Provide targeted support to pupils struggling with core subjects such as Maths and English.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives and support progress.
- Develop and implement strategies to support children with moderate learning difficulties.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create and deliver individualised learning plans.
- Participate in school activities, events, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a qualified Teaching Assistant.
- Experience working with children with moderate learning difficulties is essential.
- Proven experience supporting pupils in core subjects within a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the primary school curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
