SENIOR COMMERICAL FINANCIAL ANALYST

LONDON

In this role, you will report to the Head of Commercial Finance, and you will play a key role in providing analysis and management reporting to all areas of the business. You will prepare, develop, and analyse in-depth financial information to drive growth and profitability within the business.

This company is the leading industry in its field. It is a payments business for insurance solutions providing carriers and claim administrators with integrated treasury and payment solutions. The business empowers clients to digital claim operations and gain an advantage over peers.

THE ROLE

You will be doing the following daily:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of customer behaviours and pricing, furnishing decision-makers with comprehensive insights for financially prudent choices.
  • Carry out customer analysis of the portfolio, to ensure understanding of profitability, financial returns and some wider reporting.
  • Carry out transaction economic monitoring, through financial modeling, pricing strategy, and wider commercial query work.
  • Understand customer behaviour and drive insights from this.
  • Analyse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) meticulously, delving into the primary drivers of revenue and gross margin, and propose actionable enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to enhance comprehension of customer pricing and profitability, offering commercial assistance for tenders.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects, such as refining the Transaction Economics model and conducting Pricing Audits, aimed at optimising profitability.
  • Contribute to the month-end process alongside the Finance team, facilitating Management and Board reporting with insightful commentary to illuminate key figures.
  • Assist in the quarterly budgeting and re-forecasting processes leveraging expertise in customer behaviour.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with the Data team to enhance and broaden existing data visualisation capabilities.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated 2-5 years of experience in analytical roles, showcasing proficiency in generating thorough analyses and insights.
  • Proficient in SQL and competent in visualisation tools such as Tableau.
  • Must be CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Strong numerate degree from a Russel group university.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • While beneficial, prior experience in fin-tech is not mandatory.
