If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Full-Time Computing Lecturer at an FE (Further Education) College in Merseyside

The Role: As a Full-Time Computing Lecturer, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality and engaging computer science lessons.

As part of the Digital Academy, you will be an inspiration to your students and will contribute to achieving excellence in teaching and learning using innovative and emerging technologies. You will have an excellent up to date skillset including Cyber Security, Programming, Data Bases and A/I.

Delivering level 1-3 across the whole computer science curriculum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on various computer science topics.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect the latest industry trends and advancements.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Supervise and guide students through practical projects and assignments.
  • Support the department in curriculum development and enhancement.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of emerging technologies and teaching methodologies.

Requirements:

  • A passion for computing and a strong commitment to education.
  • A relevant degree in computer science or a related field
  • Proven experience in teaching computer science at a further education level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and related concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their goals.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed).
  • A good honours degree in a relevant subject discipline or significant experience within the IT industry.
  • A student first, creative, fun and exciting approach to teaching and learning in the classroom

The successful applicant will be able to teach up to Level 3 across Computing and Cyber Security and T-Levels and for candidates to possess technical expertise in one or more coding languages and possess an understanding of BTEC and be able to travel to Merseyside everyday.
