We are looking for outstanding individuals who are enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational to join our Inclusion team as a Specialist Teaching Assistant, with a specialism in English / Literacy. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant you will be required to work closely with members of our Inclusion team and will have the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students learning, life skills and personalised outcomes.

A key focus will be to support student provision and increase students' ability to access all areas of the curriculum and school life. As part of the role you will possess the skills to embed and develop literacy and numeracy skills, working proactively with other members of the Inclusion team to improve attainment, by adopting a personalised approach towards planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum. The successful candidate will work to support students in all necessary provisions.

Another key focus will be to increase students' ability to access all areas of the curriculum. Examples of the work the successful candidate will be expected to deliver are to:
- Take responsibility for a caseload of students inside and outside of the classroom during structured or unstructured time.
- Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students' educational progress and attainment and prepare them for adulthood.
- Deliver intervention programs to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff.
- Track and monitor student life skill targets and EHCP outcomes, discussing progress with parents and agreeing new targets/EHCP outcomes at Interim Reviews.

Hours: 35hrs per week

Contract: 39 weeks (38 weeks term-time + 1 week PLUS days)
