Welcome & Service Assistant

Summary

As the public face of our properties, you'll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £12,105.60

Contract duration: Fixed-Term until 31 August 2025

Hours/working pattern: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1040 hours over the duration of the contract, and on average, you'll work 20 hours per week / roughly 3 shifts per week but again, this will be flexible depending on operational demand.

Please note, a full driving license is required for this role. You'll be transporting visitors around the site on the Visitor Shuttle, and for performing the sweep of the grounds each evening to ensure visitors can exit the grounds safely and on time. In line with our policies, a full driving license is required for driving vehicles on property and you'll receive full training for these responsibilities.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome Manager you'll be part of a team of 6 Welcome Assistants. You'll be vital in ensuring our visitors have a great day out by providing a brilliant welcome and goodbye. You'll be providing excellent customer service to visitors and help to grow support for Anglesey Abbey and the National Trust by inspiring new members to join the Trust. There will be opportunities to develop fundraising skills by taking part in our Growing Support training programme.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can and feel welcome and valued. You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to inspiring new members to join.

You'll be part of a team growing vital support for the charity by inspiring and signing up new members and you'll have an active hands on approach to opening and closing components of the property, giving you the chance to see all parts of the site regularly.
