Accounts Assistant

This post requires an organised, confident and self-motivated team player who can work diligently in a fast-paced friendly office environment. The role will be very varied, and the successful candidate will form part of a team of two interfacing with our Group Finance Division. This will involve the daily management of the accounts receivable and payable and supporting with bank transactions, payroll and administration.

The individual must have good communication skills both written and spoken to liaise closely with our production, purchasing and shipping departments with a high level of accuracy and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities of Accounts Assistant

  • Maintenance of the accounts receivable including:
  • inputting cash received
  • contacting customers regarding overdue invoices
  • managing queries on invoices and liaising with the relevant internal departments
  • debtors report
  • Maintenance of the accounts payable including:
  • inputting invoices
  • reconciliation of statements
  • managing queries on invoices and liaising with the relevant internal departments
  • payment reports
  • Supporting with bank transactions including:
  • Inputting cash received
  • Raising payments and posting payments to bank
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with Payroll duties, and preparation of data for month end accounting Assist with other areas within the finance processing functions as and when required.

Essential Criteria

Experience for Accounts Assistant:

  • At least 1 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a similar role

Skills & Competencies for Accounts Assistant:

  • High level of numerical skill
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated.
  • Preferably experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft skills including Outlook & Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational abilities
  • Confident and self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work to deadlines

Desirable Criteria for Accounts Assistant

  • Qualified accounts technician or part qualified accountant
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of SAP

Working Week

  • 25 hours per week will be 5 hours per day Monday – Friday, morning shifts
