Learning Support Practitioner

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers to their education and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support classroom management and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
  • Collaborate with external professionals and agencies to support student well-being and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Practitioner, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special education are advantageous.
