We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Toolmaker to join our client in their Reading site.
Responsibilities:
- An experienced toolmaker, preferably with experience of injection moulding tools
- To attend to and rectify any faults or damage to moulding tools as directed by the Manager.
- To maintain mould tools and to ensure that they are ready for use when required.
- To carry out any repairs and modifications to tools as required by customers as and when authorised.
- Use of manual milling machines, lathes, cylindrical grinders, manual and CNC spark eroders
- Manufacture and fitting of new injection mould tools
- Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws and grinders
- Ensure that the toolroom equipment is operated in accordance with operating procedures and any faults are reported immediately.
- Assist Maintenance Department as and when required.
- Ensure that health and safety rules and regulations are always complied with.
- Making and assembling new plastic injection moulds to a very high standard. (This involves accurately reading/interpreting highly technical engineering drawings, accurate final grinding of mould parts and the final assembly of complete moulds, all to a very high standard.)
- Actively participating in and facilitating continuous improvements to tooling and production methods.
- Maintaining and updating relevant documentation.
- Working as part of a team to ensure set targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met.
Experience required:
- Experience in a similar injection moulding toolmaker role
- Detailed working knowledge of the assembly on new high quality mould tools
- Use of surface grinding machines
- Toolroom inspection equipment and the ability to read and interpret highly technical engineering drawings.
- Multi cavity Mould Tool experience.
- Progression Press Tool knowledge.
