We have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Lead to join our team permanently, supporting the new Strategic Asset Management Business Unit.

This unit spearheads the planning, design, and execution of Anglian Water's Major Infrastructure Programme, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) like new reservoirs in Lincolnshire and the Fens. These initiatives aim to secure future water supply, achieve net zero, adapt to climate change, and restore the environment, while creating jobs and boosting local economies.

The Internal Communications Lead will be part of the central Internal Communications team, reporting to the Internal Communications Principal. You'll build relationships with key stakeholders and employees, develop and implement a strategic internal communications plan, and support all aspects of internal communication, from daily updates to leadership communications. This includes content creation across various media and maintaining links with the Brand and Communications team to enhance awareness of the Strategic Asset Management Business Unit's work.

What you'll be doing:
- Embedded in the project teams to understand key developments and milestones to identify internal communications opportunities.

- Work with senior stakeholders to plan communications requirements and develop an internal communications strategy to ensure messages land across multiple channels.
- Work closely with the Internal Communications Principal to deliver communications strategies and plans, ensuring the communications approach ties in with the wider business priorities and Anglian Water's approach to internal communications - putting country over club.
- Help embed our Purpose by consistently using the Anglian Water Tone of Voice and brand.
- Be responsible for continuously updating relevant channels with the latest news/content that is audience relevant and dynamic.
- Monitor relevant mailboxes, responding or forwarding to the appropriate person as required.
- Create engaging content that is meaningful to the audience.
- Generate a variety of internal communications materials such as presentations, videos, briefing packs, newsletters and Business Bulletins.
- Create assets that can be used internally, both print and online, such as video, photography, digital design, long and short-form copy, plus any other creative medium that is suited to the delivery of internal communications.
- Take part in training and development activities to improve the overall content generation capabilities of the People and Change department, and apply these skills to increase the amount of content we generate

What does it take to be successful?
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Significant experience of stakeholder management (preferably internal), including senior stakeholders
- Previous experience executing internal communications strategies
- Experience of event/project management
- Able to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to think strategically and deliver tactically
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, presentational (essential)
- Awareness of the significance of social and digital media in the modern communications mix
- Ability to manage several projects at one time, prioritising effectively and managing stakeholder expectations
- Knowledge of M365 applications and confident using PowerPoint, Word and ideally Teams and SharePoint
