Pay: £22,378 per annum

Duration: Full-Time, Fixed term for 24 months

Reed - Further Education are seeking an Apprentice English Teacher to contribute towards positive outcomes for learners in English. You will have 4 days shadowing / teaching and 1 day doing learning yourself at the college to gain a qualification in teaching.

What's the day-to-day responsibilities of an Apprentice English Teacher?

  • Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Create effective assessment activities, provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners' progress for identified modules.
  • Carry out internal verification duties in line with quality assurance processes. Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.

What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?

  • Good general education including Maths and English Level 2 or above (or GCSE Grade 4 or above).
  • Level 3 qualification, such as a level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship, A-Levels, BTEC or NVQ
  • Experience of working with & supporting young people in an educational setting
  • Enthusiasm and resilience are important.
  • Exceptional verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literate including knowledge of coding/programming. Also word processing, spreadsheets and databases i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Google platforms
