Credit Risk Analyst- £45K-£55K
Mainly remote (once every 2 weeks in Cardiff)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analysis on portfolio trends and market data to identify opportunities to refine our credit strategy, lending footprint and referral approach
- Develop proposals and provide subject matter expertise to inform credit risk models and team discussions
- Develop, implement, and monitor innovative underwriting strategies
- Create and refine affordability models to ensure responsible lending practices
- Explore and integrate new data sources to enhance credit risk assessments
- Collaborate cross-functionally to challenge current methodologies and drive continuous improvement
- Communicate complex analyses, insights, and proposals clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in an analytical credit risk or related role, ideally in a financial services setting
- Proficiency with SQL , Python, PowerBI, and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw strategic insights
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Passion for improving processes and championing innovation
- Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field strongly preferred
