Credit Risk Analyst

Credit Risk Analyst- £45K-£55K

Mainly remote (once every 2 weeks in Cardiff)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth analysis on portfolio trends and market data to identify opportunities to refine our credit strategy, lending footprint and referral approach
  • Develop proposals and provide subject matter expertise to inform credit risk models and team discussions
  • Develop, implement, and monitor innovative underwriting strategies
  • Create and refine affordability models to ensure responsible lending practices
  • Explore and integrate new data sources to enhance credit risk assessments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to challenge current methodologies and drive continuous improvement
  • Communicate complex analyses, insights, and proposals clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an analytical credit risk or related role, ideally in a financial services setting
  • Proficiency with SQL , Python, PowerBI, and advanced Excel skills
  • Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw strategic insights
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Passion for improving processes and championing innovation
  • Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field strongly preferred
