SwapAgent Automation Test Engineer

Role Profile

Looking to hire an Automation Test Engineer, the role spans the automation of low-level business functional tests through to mid-level system integration tests. The successful candidate will have to co-ordinate with Operations Change Business Analysis team, Development teams, and Project managers, as well as testing teams.

The successful candidate will have an excellent QA background with experience of a variety of automation test tools, technologies and have business domain expertise and experience of delivery in complex fast moving environments. Excellent communication skills will be vital in this role. The role will report to the Test Manager and work day to day with the Test Lead.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive automation testing experience in Investment Banking IT, preparing and executing automated tests on a Financial platforms.
  • Extensive experience of creating automated tests for various layers of applications
  • Working knowledge of investment banking products - OTC Derivatives, Listed Derivatives, FX, Equity, Fixed Income
  • Experience of requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and resolving issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Min 5 years recent experience on QA Java automation - backend
  • Agile testing delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Be able to lead and champion a stream of work.
  • Contribute to enhancement of the automation packs and test automation framework.
  • Work with QA Engineers and Development Team to enhance testing tools and processes
  • Develop Test Scenarios and Cases from business requirements ensuring there is traceability back to all requirements.
  • Work with the business and technical sponsors to qualify the requirements and if identified, track and monitor gaps until sign-off.
  • Prepare the test data.
  • Maintenance and execution of tests, recording of results and undertaking defect fix re-testing, integration and regression testing.
  • Reporting defects and progress in a clear and concise way in accordance with defect standards.
  • Working with the technical teams to help resolve issues.
  • Performing results analysis.
  • Work to agreed timescales.
  • Identify risks and escalate issues to the project stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback where procedures improvements are suitable.
  • Implementing test plans to deliver test phases on time.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Computer Science preferred
  • ISEB or ISTQB testing qualification preferred
  • Test automation using a variety of test automation tools and frameworks
  • Test Engineer developing test strategy and process flows, for at least 2 large IT projects
  • Test analysis techniques
  • Test execution using GUIs and APIs
  • Test execution on the Murex Platform
  • Investment banking testing
  • Results Analysis
  • Defect Management
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to work with and interact with other departments throughout the organization
