The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced Audio Visual Engineer to join a small but thriving business.

Key Responsibilities.

To contribute to company's objectives of providing the supply and installation of high-quality audio-visual solutions whilst ensuring an excellent customer experience and maintaining a positive, productive working environment for internal and external team members.

The AV Engineer will carry out installation, service, and maintenance activities, largely at the clients premises on an assortment of AV projects. As a customer facing member of the team, it is imperative that you are always a professional with a courteous and productive manner. The role requires extensive national travel and occasional time away from home.

More specific functions are as follows: -

1. Liaise with the Engineering Manager (EM) and, where required, the sales team to fully understand project brief as agreed by the client.

2. Conduct installation, sub-assembly (i.e. Rack build), repair, test and commissioning of AV and related equipment as directed.

3. Repairs and servicing of equipment both in the workshop and on site.

4. Delivering on service contracts and extended warranties.

5. On-Site training of clients in the use of equipment.

6. Effective communication of project expectations, progress, issues and needs to EM relevant Sales Team members

7. Carry out Goods-In and Goods-out and warehousing processes.

8. Ensure workshop and warehouse are kept clean, tidy and safe.

9. Liaise openly and constructively, in an appropriately timely manner, internally and externally to ensure the delivery of the key responsibilities.

10. Meet project (and preceding milepost) deadlines.

11. Source and procure parts and consumables as required by project as authorised by EM.

Based in North Essex, salary is circa £32k-£35k doe.neg. plus benefits.

Your skills and experience

You will be an experienced engineer who is able to lead a team. You will have experience in sound, theatrical lighting and projection installations and be up to date with new technology.

Our client is a small business. It is therefore important that you maintain good communication and they expect you, on occasion, to get involved in activities outside of your core function. Helping with exhibitions, provision of content for marketing, recognising and reporting back sales opportunities, or just ways that you can help your customers are all examples of these.
