We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) Level 2 to join our team and provide exceptional support to our students, particularly those with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Pupils:
- Supervise and provide targeted support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Assist with personal care and comfort, including welfare, health, hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility, and administering medicines.
- Foster positive working relationships with pupils, serving as a role model and encouraging interaction and engagement in activities led by the teacher.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
- Promote inclusion, self-esteem, and independence among all pupils.
- Provide feedback to pupils regarding their progress and achievements under the teacher's guidance.
- Support the use of specialist equipment and procedures to meet individual needs.
- Administer basic first aid when appropriately trained.
Support for the Teacher:
- Create and maintain an orderly and supportive learning environment according to lesson plans.
- Utilise strategies in collaboration with the teacher to support pupils in achieving learning goals.
- Assist with displaying children's work and provide regular feedback to teachers on pupil achievements and progress.
- Promote good pupil behaviour, promptly addressing conflicts and incidents in line with school policy.
- Provide clerical/administrative support, including photocopying, word processing, filing, and collecting money.
- Undertake routine tests, invigilate exams, and perform routine marking of pupils' work.
- Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers and contribute to pupil record-keeping.
- Participate in planning, developing, and implementing support programmes for pupils with special educational needs.
- Escort pupils and assist in their movement around the school.
Support for the Curriculum:
- Provide support for structured and agreed learning activities/programmes, considering pupils' learning styles.
- Support Literacy/Numeracy programmes, recording achievements and progress, and providing feedback to the teacher.
- Assist in the use of ICT in learning activities, fostering pupils' competence and independence in its use.
- Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources as required for lesson plans and learning activities.
Support for the School:
- Adhere to school policies and procedures regarding child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Contribute to the school's ethos, aims, and development/improvement plans.
- Promote equal access to learning opportunities for all pupils, respecting their social, cultural, linguistic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and participate in meetings and professional development as required.
- Assist with the supervision of pupils outside of lesson times, including before and after school.
- Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips, and out-of-school activities as needed.
- Assist with the organisation and upkeep of the wider learning environment.

Experience & Knowledge:
- General understanding of the national/foundation stage curriculum and learning programmes.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults and awareness of inclusion.
Qualifications & Training:
- NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Training in relevant learning strategies (e.g., literacy/numeracy).
- Willingness to undertake appropriate first aid training.
- Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
