Group Wide Data Governance Director

Reporting into the Head of Enterprise Information Governance, the Data Governance Lead is responsible for leading the continuous improvement and roll-out of an enterprise-wide data governance framework comprising Policy, standards, guidance, controls and Group tooling. This role will be responsible and accountable for:

  • Driving alignment between tooling, policy framework and business strategies to enable Policy conformance in a consistent and efficient way, and to maximise business value.
  • Building strategic, collaborative partnerships with stakeholders including with Technology, to drive and input to Group and divisional data governance strategies.

Data Policy Framework and Conformance :

  • Define strategy for Policy framework evolution, to reflect the organisation's maturity, risk appetite and other environmental factors.
  • Lead the continuous enhancement and maintenance of the Policy framework in collaboration with divisional stakeholders to reach consensus.
  • Design and implement approaches to meet the requirements of the Policy Governance Framework
  • Is accountable for provision of guidance to support the Policy and bring about standardised and consistent approaches to implementation.
  • Help drive and input to operational resilience strategy pertaining to data as a dimension, aligning with broader data policy strategy.
  • Oversee enterprise data-related projects to remain aligned on priorities, collaborating with Sponsors, ensuring delivery of required project artefacts.
  • Produce an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap and conformance reporting.
  • Responsible for reporting of data related risks/issues, in collaboration with Data Risk, and escalation of significant issues.
  • Responsible for delivery of Divisional Strategic Objectives.

Product Management :

  • Own tooling strategy and vision of centrally provided tools. Partner with Technology and syndicate product roadmap with divisional stakeholders
  • Be an advocate for implementation consistency while meeting strategic divisional requirements and other business drivers.
  • Identify capability gaps to improve user experience and increase adoption. Translate into vision and high-level requirements.
  • Deliver and support tooling capabilities to meet the product roadmap, including managing funding, overseeing the backlog and priorities, requirements analysis and business sponsorship.
  • Promote adoption of capabilities to continually build business value.
  • Lead and develop the licensing strategy and associated vendor negotiations.

General

  • Manages staff at various levels globally both directly and matrixed, including responsibilities to on-board, train, educate, mentor, and off-board, as necessary.
  • Inputs to industry forums and champions industry best practices within LSEG for Data Governance, Management, Quality, and Metadata and incorporates relevant ideas into deliverables.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant Data Governance and frameworks experience
  • Product Owner experience - required for data governance tooling
  • Strong people and stakeholder management being able to influence
  • Worked in agile methodologies

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with P urview, Solidatus and Collibra
  • Experience working in a global organization
