Reed Business Support Lancaster, are currently working in partnership with our highly prestigious client in the Lancaster area, to assist them in the recruitment of an Account Manager to join the team on a full time and permanent basis.

The role

We are seeking an Account Manager to service existing customers, grow their accounts, and manage the successful development of sales in line with the business development strategy. This role is integral to the continued success of the organisation and offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the growth of the business.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist in the maintenance and implementation of a sales development plan.
  • Act as a reliable first point of contact for delegated customers, liaising responsively and proactively.
  • Manage customer enquiries from initial receipt to the production of samples and generation of quotations.
  • Follow customer orders through to the specification stage, ensuring all product information is in place.
  • Proactively follow the New Product Introduction Procedure and communicate effectively with the management team.
  • Respond to enquiries from the company's website and work with customers on product development.
  • Build relationships with customers, understanding their needs and representing the company positively.
  • Forecast and set account targets for annual budgeting in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
  • Provide monthly reports detailing work completed, ongoing, and pending, including roadblocks, solutions, and procedural improvements.
  • Deputise for the Commercial Director as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage and develop existing customer relationships and proactively establish new ones.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident and calm under pressure with an enthusiastic and self-motivated approach.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High-level communication skills and proficiency in managing customer relationships.
