The Opportunity
Are you someone looking for a commercially focused role as a finance analyst / commercial analyst / finance business partner?
This role sits outside of the core accounts team so it's not month end, no balance sheet recs or prepayments, no VAT, no stat accounting...
Your focus surrounds the commercial MI and data that flows through the business - drilling into the sales, marketing and promotional data. You'll work very closely with non finance colleagues and be a valued business partner.
You'll shine a light on what decisions and strategies can be adopted to improve margin, drive profitability, reduce unnecessary cost and ultimately underpin exciting growth.
There's bags of scope to make a difference and the whole remit is added value centric. There's plenty of ad hoc projects and one off reporting alongside the BAU so every day will be different and there will be plenty of unique and interesting challenges.
It's an ambitious SME with an element of 'start up feel' - a modern thinking leadership team and owners with a real appetite to invest in people and growth.
You need great analytical skills - someone able to use Excel to drill into data but equally important is that natural ability to spot trends and a natural curiosity.
You'll likely be someone with great communication / interpersonal skills - someone who enjoys getting away from their desk and out into the business to speak to colleagues about their projects - you'll be someone who can bring MI to life.

Required:
- Previous experience as finance analyst OR previous experience of management accounting and an appetite to move into commercial analysis / business partnering.
- Great Excel skills - ability to interrogate data and provide meaningful reports / summaries.
- Great communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Commercial acumen and an interest in business.
- Ability to work on site (Chorley / Preston region) 5 days per week ideally.
