Insight Employment are currently looking for a Production Shift Manager to work for a client of ours in Dunstable.
THIS IS A TEMP TO PERM POSITION TO A SUITABLE CANDIDATE
The Client: -
Our client is an online company suppling double gazed units to both retail and trade and were establishing in 2017.
The Role: -
The Production Shift Manager will oversee approximately 10-15 employees and require a hands-on approach within a glass manufacturing environment. You must ensure that the manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. You will be responsible for the technical management, supervision and control of industrial production processes. Whilst ensuring that the production process is followed in line with policies and procedures. Holding a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
Shift and 'on-call' work may be required, particularly where manufacturing/production equipment is in continual 24-hour operation.
Responsibilities of the job include: -
- Planning and organising production schedules
- Assessing project and resource requirements
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
- Determining quality control standards
- Overseeing production processes
- Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
- Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
- Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Supervising the work of production staff
Key skills for Shift Managers : -
- Background in glass manufacturing would be an advantage or must have had experience in Management or Production role previously

- Very important hands-on approach covering floor as and when needed throughout the day

Salary: -
Between £14.00-£17.00 per hour depending on experience
