Hourly Rate: £25.62ph
Location: Wetherby
Job Type: Full-time, Sessional, 12-month Fixed Term & Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)
We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join our team within offender learning in the Wetherby area. This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of learners, aiding their personal development and helping them contribute positively to their communities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop and deliver high-quality lessons in functional skills maths.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assess learner needs and develop individualised learning plans.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners in achieving their qualifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and best practices in functional skills education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
- A qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills Maths.
- A proven track record of effective teaching within the subject specialism.
- A Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
