We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to join our close-knit team. You'll develop and support new websites, from simple brochure sites to complex eCommerce solutions, integrating APIs and a range of plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields.
Your creative eye and essential WordPress experience will be crucial in building bespoke front-end designs on our framework. If you're passionate about delivering quality results in a great working environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Website Development & Maintenance: Create and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Front-End Development: Convert bespoke designs into HTML and CSS.
- API & Plugin Integration: Integrate APIs and WordPress plugins effectively.
- Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented code adhering to coding standards.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.
Requirements:
- Ability to convert bespoke designs into HTML, CSS/SASS
- Great understanding of Javascript / jQuery
- Strong experience of Wordpress, PHP 7 / 8, git / version control
- Ability to create custom Wordpress themes and plugins, tailored to a client's requirements
- Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of skilled developers
- Understanding W3C standards and accessibility requirements
- Knowledge of cross-browser and various other testing processes
- Focus on improving both your personal development and your team's technical capabilities
- MySQL database administration
- Good organisational skills and a great attitude to keeping our customers happy
- Highly motivated with good interpersonal skills

Salary: £35-40k depending on experience
Place of Work: Our Darlington HQ for at least 2 days of your working week.
